JOB TITLE: Dental Assistant II

SALARY RANGE: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act. This position will occasionally coordinate community outreach programs and activities by working with culturally diverse, underserved children and families and will be responsible for the promotion and awareness of access to OIC’s dental programs for all ages in order to aid in the fulfillment of the organization’s goals and mission.
Position will participate in QI activities as needed.
High School diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
Must have completed a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) from an accredited dental assisting program or one academic year or longer in a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program or completion of two years of full-time employment/work experience as a chairside assistant (3,000 hours).
Must hold a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Must hold a national DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification.
